If you were to look through my purse, you may find a few old, folded up grocery lists.
Before grocery shopping, I usually look up recipes, plan meals, and then make a list of needed ingredients. After grocery shopping, I plan a time to prep. Prep can mean multiple things: measuring, weighting, cutting, freezing, or whatever you need to do to prepare for future cooking.
This type of planning seems like it would take a long time, but actually this saves time, mon$y, and helps you stay on a healthy track!
With a list, you may end up saving money due to not tossing extra ingredients into the cart you may not use or buying unhealthy items.
With prep, you save time by easily tossing pre-cut veggies into a recipe or warming up a pre-made breakfast burrito on the go.
With planning your meals ahead of time, you eat healthy throughout the week with less possibility of eating unhealthy due to convenience.
So here is a list for you:
Get recipe ideas – Pinterest, health magazines, or cookbooks
List out the meals for each day of the week
Check your current groceries, so you do not buy repeats
Write a list of the needed ingredients
GO SHOPPING and maybe save some $
Prep
Enjoy a stress free, convenient way of getting fuel to your body!
